Emma Engelbert, here flanked by her grandfather Stig Engelbert, is the latest addition to a century-old jewelry tradition in the Engelbert family. After 50 years as owner and CEO of Engelbert Stockholm, Emma's father Lars and uncle Peter are retiring and the family has continued in a fourth generation in 2 companies, AB Heribert Engelbert and Emma Engelbert AB.

Emma's great-grandfather Heribert Engelbert opened his own jewelry business in Malmö in 1920.

In 1962, Lars and Peter took over the company after the death of their father Stig. By this time, the brothers had trained as goldsmiths in Germany and studied gemology in London. Lars wanted to try his wings in the U.S. and in 1965 he started working for the prestigious Mario Buccelati in New York.

In 1966 Lars and Peter opened their own office on 5th Avenue in New York. After great success in the U.S.
and Europe, the brothers decided to move home and concentrate on the Swedish market.

In 1994 they won the "De Beers Diamonds International Award" the most prestigious prize in jewelry design.
